PORTFOLIO PROJECT: GENRE

Good morning & happy Valentines Day to all ♡

This week, Grace and I are getting more involved and specific with our project. We decided that the genre would be drama. One of my first blog posts was about genre research, and it was based on drama. So I'm taking some inspiration from that post. We decided to choose the genre drama because it makes sense with the type of video we want to make.

Some camera shots, angles, and techniques that are good are drama movies are:
- slow zoom
- slow motion
- adding dialogue

We can use these techniques to make the scene(s) more dramatic. We also need a conflict and a rising question. We need to make the viewer think of a question when watching the scene(s). This will leave the viewer wanting for more. At the end of the final scene, we can have someone walk into the office, or someone say over voice over a sentence that sounds mysterious.

So far, we want the main character to be the editor of this magazine company or the model herself for the magazine. We haven't figured out the conflict of the scene yet, just the overall idea of it. For props, we will be using VOUGE posters off of amazon, and some magazines we'll lay on a table. As for shots and angles, that'll be explained in the next post(s).

Stay tuned for the next post! I can't wait to share more about this project.
