PORTFOLIO PROJECT: CHARACTERS & REPRESENTATION

PORTFOLIO  PROJECT: CHARACTERS & REPRESENTATION

For our characters, we've been working on background we want them to have. The model is going to be the main character in the opening. We think that she is also going to be the only one in the video. We want the focus to be mainly on her and only her.

There will be other characters in the opening, but they won't be shown. For example, the photographer will obviously be in the video, but won't be shown. The reason behind this will be simple. The more characters we will have, the more actors we will need. It will get too complicated. So we think that the one character being shown will be better than several.

We also want to incorporate some representation in the video. So, if we wanted to incorporate representation with a character, it would be the model who is the main character. We're thinking about making the model hispanic. I have a Venezuelan flag, and we can show it somewhere in the opening.

I'm thinking of putting the flag on the desk, where all the makeup is going to be, and when the makeup is showing, then there will be a shot of also showing the flag. This way the viewer knows that the character has a hispanic background.

I'm not sure if this idea is final, but I think we can make it work in a good way!
