My Portfolio Project: A Level
CRITICAL REFLECTION
Hey guys! Happy Sunday! Have you noticed? I changed my theme! I always put a Vogue or fashion related picture at the top, but I wanted to switch it up a bit. Since I love reading and flowers, I decided to use this picture today for an extra pop of color on the blog.
Today I am starting to work on my critical reflection. I'm giving myself a couple days to write the entire thing, which I believe is good timing. So I looked for some notes from the beginning of the year when our teacher taught us how to write it.
Here are some things for me to remember:
- Essay of around 1000 words
- Have to answer these questions:
1. How do your products represent social groups or issues?
2. How do the elements of your production work together to create a sense of ‘branding’?
3. How do your products engage with the audience?
4. How did your research inform your products and the way they use or challenge conventions?
There is lot's of information I can use for my critical reflection. For example, since our documentary is about immigrants coming to the U.S. to build a new life and businesses, I can incorporate that into my essay. This is a great load of information to use for the first question, since it asks about social groups or issues.
For the second question, we can use the example of our social media, and how we had to create our "brand" essentially to market our documentary. The logo, facebook, and posts are all examples of how our production created a sense of "branding." The third question also connects with our social media. Since it's asking about how we engaged with the audience, I can answer on how we used social media to connect with the audience and release frequent updates about the film itself.
I will have to do more research for the fourth question, and discuss with Lucas and Mari to see what elements I should include for this portion of the essay.
