My Portfolio Project: A Level
SOCIAL MEDIA
Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! Today, I created our new facebook account. According to our research, the best social media app for this documentary will be facebook. Since the target audience is immigrant business owners, we researched the average age that are immigrant business owners in the US as well as facebook users. The average age came out almost the same. Therefore, we are going to use facebook as our social media page.
One problem will be that I've never used facebook before. I have already made an account, but I don't know how to fully navigate the platform. It's been difficult to find some accounts for documentaries on facebook or even instagram, but here is what my account looks like so far:
So far, the only problem I have ran into was changing my name. Currently it says my actual name, and I want to change it to the name of the documentary. I'm sure I'll be able to figure out how to change it later on. I'll just have to figure it out soon enough!

So during some more research, I was able to find some social media accounts! They are all instagram, but at least we can get some ideas from what to post on our facebook account.
1. Abstract: The Art of Design
We watched this documentary during class a couple months ago. Here is some more information, and how it can help us with our social media page:

Description of types of posts: Very colorful, interactive posts that have a variety of "design" (ironically)
Description of how branding is developed (or not): Shows specific behind the scenes posts and posts with the colors shown in the logo and show.
Analysis of how you will use this to develop your own social media presence:
We would follow the colorful aspect of the posts, as we don't want the posts to be boring and not entertaining for our target audience.
2. Disney Documentaries:
Disney has a documentary account on instagram. They post all of the documentaries available that are made by Disney. Here are some more details about it:

Social media tool: Instagram
Description of types of posts: Lots of close up pictures that show details of people's faces and also lots of videos.
Description of how branding is developed (or not): Branding is developed by posting lots of posters and information about the new upcoming documentary coming out.
Analysis of how you will use this to develop your own social media presence:
We will be posting lots of snippets of the documentary while we're editing it.
3. Just Jacob:
Just Jacob was a short documentary created by a college student. Here are some things we can learn about this documentary:
Media text: Just Jacob.
Social media tool: Instagram
Description of types of posts: Has one common color, doesn't change theme. Having little snippets of documentary in the posts.
Description of how branding is developed (or not): Brand is developed by using a specific color over and over again, to create a brand.
Analysis of how you will use this to develop your own social media presence:
We can use one specific color for the entire page, or use multiple colors like the first example showed.
